Each year, the NSFGA holds an
annual summer orchard tour.
The tour is an opportunity for the fruit growing
community to
visit other farms and meet with other growers from near and far.
Local growers welcome others in the fruit industry to their farms
to display
some aspect of their operation.
Orchards stops along the tour view
such things as planting systems, rootstock and variety trials, pest management
technologies, crop load management techniques and orchard machinery.
The tour is generally held on the
Tuesday of the first full week of August. The tour alternates between the
western half and the eastern half of the Annapolis Valley.
A long standing tradition started in 1925, the tour is looked forward to each year.
